    From Starpilot@VERT/STARPI to All on Fri Sep 23 22:00:04 2011
    I'm using 10.4 Ubuntu and crontab to run scripts at timed intervals etc. Was not sure if I reboot or power outage will crontab start automatically or will
    I have to restart it.

    All you have to do is put your scripts in the right directory.. /etc/cron.hourly /etc/cron.daily etc.... you don't even need to restart cron or anything.. of course you can still add items to your crontab if you need to. Cron starts at bootup and reloads it's configs as needed.

    if you wanna run things at boot you can do

    @reboot < whatever >

    it'll run once at boot, that's it.
