    That reminds me, I had seen some guitar instruction videos on YouTube where the person is trying to teach how to play a specific song, and for the strumming of various parts of the song, they might say something like "This part of the song is a down-up-down-down-up-down" or something like that.. Typically I don't think of playing a song in terms of when I should be specifically strumming up or down; I just think about the timing of the strumming and I play it. It's not about memorizing up & down strumming. :)
