Just for fun - What are some of your pet peeves for things you see in music gear for-sale ads?
One of mine is in the photos, when I see a guitar laying bare on grass or dirt. I'm not going to want to buy a guitar that might have dirt on it, or whatever bacteria it might have picked up from that grass or dirt. To me, I think that's just a bad way to advertise a piece of musical gear. It should be displayed well - not laid in grass or dirt.
A less serious offense is when they have a guitar pictured laying by itself on the floor. I hope they handled the guitar carefully when taking those pics so it doesn't get scratched (perhaps by a wood floor), and the same goes with bacteria picked up from a floor (particularly with carpeting).
I like your rational. Those guitars in the grass pics bother me too. If the guitar is any good why are you laying it in the grass? I've shopped used guitars on e-bay and other guitar sites but I doubt I'd buy one in the grass. Hey maybe we should publish a magazine or book called Guitars in the Grass. Catchy name.
