So, what kind of music does everybody out here like?

Being from the San Francisco Bay Area & being a teenager in the 80's, I grew up listening to what they called (back then) Modern Rock.

Some of my biggest influences are:

    Madness
    The Cure
Bauhaus (Love & Rockets, Peter Murphy, Dali's Car, etc.)
    Siouxsie & The Banshees
    The Smiths (& Morrissey)
    Pet Shop Boys
    R.E.M.
Primus (They were local. Got to see 'em for like $5....or even FREE)
    The Cramps
    Tory Amos
US (Pretty much only the album "War")
    The Cult ("Love")
    The Pixies
    Dead Can Dance
    Dead Kennedys
    FEAR
    Christian Death
    David Bowie
    Barenaked Ladies

    ...etc...

    How about you guys?

    -Rassilon...

That's cool.. I was a young child in the 80s and a teenager in the 90s, but many of my favorite bands are classic rock bands:
    The Beatles
    Paul McCartney
    Pink Floyd
    Fleetwood Mac
    The Doobie Brothers
    Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler

I also enjoy 80s music and some alternative and some newer rock, such as Sheryl Crow and Blue Man Group.

She Crow? Well...at this very moment I'm listening to The Cure's contribution to "The Crow"'s soundtrack ("Burn")....Such a good movie...if you've ever seen it....those clubs that they showed in the movies with all those tatooed, pierced freaks in there...I grew up there...I was the normal dude...Never had a tatooo, only had my left ear pierced...wore all black (like everyone else)...When I was performing on stage with my band I wore make-up...a
little black eyeliner....maybe some black lipstick...ok...call me a
freak...the audience loved it...Shit...I'll upload some .mp3's and you
won't think I'm that much of a freak....anyway...There were all kinds of naked chicks in cages suspended from cages attached to the ceilings...nice. San Francisco in the 90's...kick ass! Ya....you could pay ten bucks to whip a chick with a leather whip...or $15 to get tied to a wall and get whipped yourself...upstairs there were tatoo parlors...piercings...

...This was in a night club...

    Anyway...

Nice...shit...and I was the mellow dude. I was the geek....my friends would get tattooos & piercings & get whipped / whip....I'm like..."I'm gonna stay downstars & get in the pit & drink...."...."Later..."...

...So...I'm drunk & opening up...so now y'all know more about me...

...I can't believe I said "Y'all"...I've been in the South too long...

    GO GIANTS! GO 49ERS!

Not She Crow, Sheryl Crow.. Unfortunately, when quoting someone's email on a BBS, parts of their sentences at the end are often cut off because " > " is inserted at the beginning of their sentences.

Sounds pretty wild.. :) I was never even one to go out to nightclubs.. I never particularly liked being around people who were drinking for very long, and I guess wild parties like that were never my thing anyway.

Yeah...back then I never drank in night clubs or bars & the people I went with either didn't drink at all or at most had one or two.

We just went there for the atmosphere & music.

Hell, that was forever ago anyway...

Ahh yes, I grew up in the bay more in the 90's but I loved Primus as I was a bass player with a big ego and a weird streak.. Most of those bands I can get down with except...

Barenaked Ladies... man I can't stand those guys. That is like the soundtrack of hell to me. But I can't critique the rest.

Good to see someone here! Now everyone start posting about music...... and stuff..... :)

Ok, well My system is set up to support the audio enthusiasts out there, with lots of .wav, .voc, .mod, .s3m files that can be either enjoyed on their own
or used for mixxing and creating new works.

Still debating on if I should make my .mp3 collection available in the file section or not.
