• Fidonet Netmail Question

From Buckaroo Banzai@LINGNET to All on Wed Apr 11 07:44:13 2012
I can't seem to figure this out and I know it's a simple thing. here's what I've got

    1) I've got Synchronet installed and working
    2) I've got Argus for my frontend setup and it seems to be polling my NC
    3) I've got SBBSEcho confgured and import the fidonet backbone areas into Synchronet

    4) I've got DOVE-NET working and I can pick up and send messages to and from it.

What I can not do is create a Fidonet Netmail msg to send to my NC so I can get hooked up with Fidonet. back in the day, when I ran FrontDpoor/Intermail it was easy, I could just write a Fidonet netmail from inside Frontdoor and all was swell. Can't do that with Argus, as far as I can see, and I can't see anywhere to do it in Synchronet.

Can anyone help a down on his luck american patriot here and help me get this last part sowrking so I can hook my BBS into Fidonet?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hit 'N' from the 'E'mail menu and enter your uplink's name/address (e.g. sysop@1:100/1).

Sure, but this is the wrong sub-board for Synchronet support questions.

That's one thing I miss about my old dialup BBS - being able to send netmail outside of the BBS. You have two choices -- either set up a mail program
like GOLDEd or TIMED, and use it to create a netmail in the ARGUS netmail folder, or create a netmail from within your BBS. If you're running
Synchronet with the classic menus, it's E for email then N to create a new netmail. Enter the name as name @ fido node number. If all's well, you
should have a properly formatted netmail in your outbound directory once the mail's processed. You may need to run the FIDOOUT event to export the email, I'm not 100% sure.
