In answer to the question, "Give reasons why you would or
would not sign the Declaration of Independence if you lived
at the time of the signing" given to a group of fourth grade
students:
1. I would not want to be shot, killed, I wouldn't want to
pay taxes and be treated the way the colonies where being
treated the king of England was the meanest the foulest
person on earth.
2. I would sign that tweedy because, if we did not sign the
tweedy this would happen the world would be cruel and maybe
if we did not win the war there would only be 49 stats or
even 48 or 47.
3. If the war was over and we lost then a little part of
America would not be ours.
4. And another thing if we did not sign that tweedy then we
wouldn't be learning the declaration of independence and
would have never learned about that any tweedy in the first
place.
5. Now this is the main thing if we did not sign that thing
then there would be no state but most important no
freedom!!!
