Not necessarily a hobby, but my family loves to view the launches from Cape Canaveral.
We were able to view it tonight from our back lanai. It's wonderful to look into the sky and
see the orange fireball travel upwards into the clouds.

It is 143 miles by car to the Cape, (less by as the crow flies), but the view is still amazing.

I would be inclined to think that if plane spotting is a hobby, then spacecraft spotting definitely is!

That's something that I'd love to see one day. While I've watched countless videos of launches I can't even imagine what it'd be like to see in person.

We actually were one mile away from the Cape during the last official government launch years ago. That was awesome!

But we get at least 1 launch per week usually, and we try to see as many as we can, limited only by cloud cover.
