I've been watching Picard Season 3. I almost didn't bother after last season, but it's been (for the most part) a much better experience than the first two seasons, and really feels like a legit TNG reunion.

We've also been watching The Mandolorian (but are a few episodes behind) and I've been half-watching TNG while I goof off on the computer. I'm almost to the good 'beard' years. :D

I've been watching that too, and I'm enjoying this season. It seems some shows don't start out very good, and like The Next Generation, I think the first 2 seasons of Picard weren't great, but it has gotten much better in the 3rd season.

I've also been watching Star Trek: Discovery. I've seen it through season 3 and will be starting season 4 fairly soon.

I tried to watch the 1st episode of The Mandalorian but couldn't really get into it.

Picard Season 3 has been great, the last episode was 20 years in the making.

I've heard Brent Spiner has said multiple times that he feels it would make sense for him to stop playing Data (and Lore) he has aged out of those roles (where the characters aren't supposed to visibly age), but it seems they keep finding a way to have him keep playing Data. In a way, it probably made more sense for him to play different Soong characters (which he had been doing).

I expect Will and Deanna's daughter will play a upcoming role in some new Star Trek in the coming year or so. I wonder if a show based on Star Fleet Academy will soon arrive as an announcement.

I think the first season of Strange New Worlds was really good, though I still feel like there have been too many Star Trek prequels now (especially ones in the Kirk era). Enterprise was the first Star Trek prequel, and I think it was interesting and should have gone longer, but then there was the JJ Abrams reboot Star Trek movies with Kirk and his crew, and then Discovery (just 10 years before the original series), and now Strange New Worlds (though it is a good series).

Recently I've heard they're planning another Star Trek series based on Starfleet Academy in the 32nd century, after Discovery season 5 concludes.

For a long time, I've thought it would be good to see a movie or TV series featuring the Enterprise B or C, since we only ever saw those once each. The 'Lost Era' seems like a big opportunity that that they haven't developed.

    100%.

I loved that they made Nurse Chapel into a more significant character,
I'd follow Pike to the ends of the universe if I were in Starfleet, and
I very much enjoyed Hemmer's role as the mentor.

"To fix what which is broken" as a person's guiding principle is pretty profound for a TV show.

The scene where Uhura is hazed at the bridge officer's dinner by Hemmer
and Spock was pretty good. I was a little off-put by her story of not
really wanting to be in Starfleet, as they mentioned, I'm sure there's a backlog of people who are as good and want to be there.

I saw Strange New Worlds season 1 is going to be available on 4K blu-ray, which I thought was interesting (for a TV show). I'd had the standard blu-ray pre-ordered, but when I saw the 4K was going to be available, I canceled my blu-ray pre-order and I pre-ordered the 4K version instead.

Yeah, I like Shaw, but I like Shaw as a supporting character. I'm not entirely ìsure how I'd feel about a series of him. Still, I'd take it over the ìWorf/Raffi speculation, because as much as I love Worf, I just...can't deal ìwith Raffi as a character. :/

Yeah, I might hit DS9 after this TNG run, or start mixing them when I get to ìthat point. Last night I watched the 'conspiracy' episode. Earlier in Picard, ìsome people were speculating that the 'bugs' from conspiracy may end up being ìthe bad guys. I kind of wish they had done that, but I'm certain at this ìpoint they haven't. The last scene in conspiracy is Data talking about how ìthey sent out a beacon directing the way to Earth. That'd be pretty cool to ìhave a payoff for that line 30+ years later.

Since they referenced Captain Garrett in Picard with a statue, I'd love to see her kicking some Romulan ass before going through the rift. You have to figure the captain of a flagship would have to be something pretty amazing to merit a statue. I'd like to see the E-C take out 3 of the Romulans before going out.

Well, I mean she did sacrifice herself and her ship to come to the rescue of ìan embattled Klingon outpost, which led to the peace treaty between the ìFederation and the Klingon empire. I'd say that's statue-worthy.

I just watched the last episode of TNG season one last night, where Worf ìmentions that the Romulans are dishonorable because they attacked the colony ìwhere he was born and killed his parents.
