• Sysop Alias

    From HSM@21:2/162 to All on Fri Mar 6 21:07:50 2020
    I found that netmail responses I was getting from a uplinks AREAFIX were addressed to "Sysop" and I wasn't able to read them... until I changed my
    name to "Sysop".

    Can I keep the name of my chosing and still be able to read messages
    addressed to Sysop?

    Thanks!

    Yes, you may need one or more forward = lines with your RN or alias

    forward = Sysop;HSM

    Chech the ImportEchoMail section of mutil.ini

    Ttyl :-),

    You can forward any name to any other name, so you could put an entry for "SysOp" in your mailin.ini (or whatever you use to import) so anything addressed to SysOp will forward to HSM.

    Hello HSM!

    On 06 Mar 2020, HSM said the following...

    Yep! In the ImportEchoMail stanza in mutil.ini (or import.ini or whatever you call the INI file that you pass to MUTIL when importing echomail/netmail messages) you can specify "forwarding" rules for netmail messages.

    For instance, I have the following to "forward" a couple of common names as well as variations of my name:

    forward = admin;sysop
    forward = administrator;sysop
    forward = All;sysop
    forward = B Wiberg;sysop
    forward = Bjoern W;sysop
    forward = Bjoern Wiberg;sysop
    forward = Bjorn W;sysop
    forward = Bjorn Wiberg;sysop
    forward = Björn Wiberg;sysop
    forward = BW;sysop
    forward = postmaster;sysop
    forward = system operator;sysop
    forward = sysop;Zip

    The last one is the one which ultimately forwards the netmail message to my account (Zip).

    Hope this helps!

    Best regards
    Zip
