  • Mystic SSH issues

    So for the first time ever, I'm trying to setup SSH logins for my BBS.

    I'm running Mystic BBS v1.12 A49 compiled 2024/05/29 19:07:34 on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS x86_64. I downloaded and compiled the latest cryptlib 3.4.8 and installed in the lib dir and restarted MIS.

    So I'm having issues connecting. I found this in the MIS.LOG

    + 2025.04.01 13:40:09 SSH 1-HostName Unknown
    + 2025.04.01 13:40:09 SSH 1-Negotiating SSH session
    + 2025.04.01 13:40:09 SSH Unable to set key (-2 )
    + 2025.04.01 13:40:09 SSH 1-Session failed

    I searched this base for previous issues of the same and found people talking about downgrading to cl 3.4.5. Is that something I should do? Is there something more basic that I should be trying?

    Yeah, im running ubuntu 22.04 with cryptlib 3.4.5 and it works well. I made a github with the docker build instructions. You can check the build option to try in your ubuntu dist too.

    Ive been trying to get it to run on my Win32 system. followed the wiki directions to a T and nothing. giving up on it for now. need to get the rest of the board finished first.
