    Is there any extra benefits for beginniners to get the next licence upgrade and will my licence clock start again at 10
    years?

    General License Privileges
    --------------------------
    o Operate digital modes. Generals can operate all digital modes on HF,
    including FT8, which has become the most popular mode--not just the most
    popular digital mode--on the HF bands.
    o Operate SSB phone on HF bands below 28 MHz.
    o Operate on the 20-meter band. The 20-meter band is arguably the best band
    for
    o Operate in more contests. Because Generals have more operating privileges,
    they are able to more fully participate in amateur radio contests than are
    Technicians,
    o Administer amateur radio examinations. Generals can become Volunteer
    Examiners (VEs), although they are only allowed to administer Technician
    Class exams.

    Amateur Extra License Privileges
    --------------------------------
    o Operate voice, data, and CW on HF frequencies set aside solely for Amateur
    Extra Class operators. These frequency privileges allow Extra Class
    operators to more easily work DX stations and operate under less crowded
    conditions.
    o Administer all three amateur radio license examinations.

    will my licence clock start again at 10 years?

    The clock starts the date your license begins.

    the local repeaters/weather nets.

    I went on and did General with the intention of doing HF.

    I went on and did General with the intention of doing HF.


    After I got my tech license I was given a copy of a issue of On the Air and saw schematics for a CW transceiever on 40m which can be powered using potatos and lemons. A radio which i can play with experiment and if I get get the munchies my power source is edible .


    So I blame CW and delicious gummies :D

    ... A house is a place to keep your stuff while you go out and get more stuff

    Well I have an HF rig now an working on getting it set up...



    ... Xerox Alto was the thing. Anything after we use is just a mere copy.
