    That's gonna be tougher going further. With the increase of AI production an the closure of Crucial, prices and availability of chips are will be going in opposite directions and not in a good way.

    Based on what I consider hearsay, it sounds like at least one of the AI bigshots has pre-ordered a bunch of memory which binds the supply chain
    even more.

    I'm a little behind the curve, but I bought a system last year with 64
    GB of DDR4 RAM. I hope that'll hold me for a while longer. It's only
    2666mhz, I could probably upgrade to an 11th gen i7 and still use that
    memory.

    Sadly, while prices ebb and flow, they never go back down all the way.

    That's standard practice for any business when needing to keep an inventory of parts.
