    I did get wwiv installed in linux, but I still have a few more steps with it.

    Its the high cost of subscriptions, its the fsking AI, its the bloated operating systems.

    I left over 20 years ago, and I'm glad I did it back then, so I don't have to "rush to the exit" to avoid things like this.

    It will take a bit of getting used to, but well worth it.

    You can do it. Been on linux for years now. What distro did you choose? What issues are you having? I would love to help.

    I made a post earlier today, Its just I cant write new files or directories in my user group.
    File permissions is the big issue.

    Linux Mint was selected.

    The distro doesn't matter. If you install something, or create a directory with one user and/or root, then try to write files or directories to it with a different user/group, you'll usually run into issues.

    Have a look at 'man chown' (or google 'chown' without quotes) to change ownership of files/directories.
