I was on my way to mention this here as well, as I got an email notification of your posted issue (probably because you @ me) and noticed the exact same thing.
Looks like someone took over RJ's account and deleted the
organization. Links to the repos that were there no longer work.
Oddly enough, Jame and Peter are the only ones with access to that repo still. So my mind was going in the same direction, either RJ's account was hacked, or someone else had access to it, or github just gave it to some random that forked it earlier than anyone else.
I found this because my fork of JamNNTPd (cnb/jamnntpd) now shows
"forked from BegemotIPryaniki/jamnntpd" instead of "forked from ftnapps/jamnntpd".
After checking this account, it looks like he's forked smapinntpd, xmsgapi, smapi, golded-plus, crashmail, mbsebbs and maximus as well. So I wonder if it's someone that is still a part of the hobby? His last activity on his repos was in 2024, though.
After the deletion, GitHub seems to have reassigned the repositories
to some existing forks (no idea what the criteria were):
Oddly enough, before today I had never seen a fork of jamnntpd belonging to him. Unless github doesn't list anything over 5 years old or something, since his fork was done in like 2017. Maybe it was given to the first fork? *shrug*

Nick
