Hello Vincent,
I just built Eugene's new GoldEd from scratch and it works great.
Here's how I did it, step by step, so you do not have to rely on a
broken script to install it on my Slackware 15 BBS server ('./' is ./golded-plus):
1) git clone https://github.com/golded-plus/golded-plus.git
2) cd ./golded-plus
3) edit ./golded3/mygolded.__h using the instructions in the file;
save it as mygolded.h
4) mkdir ./build
5) cd build
6) cmake
7) make
Et voila! a fresh new build of GoldEd.
I ran into a single warning from the GED source about an ignored
attribute
(harmless) and a few harmless warnings from ld.
That's it, nothing else.
I renamed the binary to 'gedlnx' from 'golded' to fit my existing
scripts, chmod +x, and dropped the binary directly into my existing
GED install. The
new binary works great--I'm using it now.
If need be, I'd be happy to make an installation video to help.
It would be helpful if one can get the exact version number on the
display instead of just the 1.1.5 that has been used since Odinn
worked on it some 26+ years ago.

I would vote for the same.
I am still waiting for final version, to start ;-)

I suggest we start at 2.0.0.Well, there is v2.50 from Odinn, dated 08.10.95. ;)

Seems like you're conflating GoldED with GoldED+ :-)
Yes. I've already spoken with the maintainer of the main upstream repository, and he suggested exactly this approach for RU.GOLDED: to
make the Unicode branch version 2.0. But first, we need to thoroughly
test all the features in use, compile a list of UX cases, and
stabilize my branch — there are still bugs, and suggestions are still coming in :)
... It's full of stars!
