Hi, Ward Dossche!
I read your message from 05.02.2022 22:03
ak>> The better question is where did that water drained to after the
ak>> flood? The best answer -- the water had returned to where it was
ak>> taken.
WD> Unlikely as it sounds to the critical reader, the story of Noah's
WD> Ark and the massive floods should not be discounted out of hand.
WD> Perhaps some things happenedm but in a different way.
WD> As many know I spent years and years of my life in Montana
WD> (although Sean Dennis claims I hate the USA) and something which I
WD> discovered there and learned about is "Glacial Lake Missoula".
WD> In short, towards the end of the last ice age a humongous chunk of
WD> ice blocked the outflow of what we now know as the Clark Fork river
WD> and a massive lake started forming which eventually had the size of
WD> Lake Erie and Lake Ontario combined which easily can be
WD> considered "seas". When, after filling, due to sheer magnitude of
WD> the built-up water pressure, the ice plugs collapsed, the Glacial <skipped>
Yeah, I read about it.
WD> Lake Missoula emptied in less thab a week... in size this was like
WD> the Northsea... It happened like 12.000 years ago. In excavations
WD> no human remains were found but native oral history mentions the
WD> event before scientific evidence became available, so it may have
WD> been observed by humans. And Glacial Lake Missoula was not unique.
WD> For more reading, here's an URL

WD> So, let's take the old testament of the bible... perhaps there has
WD> indeed been a kind of a glacial lake as well somewhere near the
WD> middle east and people became enclosed on an island and had to
WD> built a large enough vessel to save themselves and their animals
WD> from drowning...
It sounds probable, although such tales are known around the world.
Actually, something extra ordinary happened 12-14 thousand years ago,
and the event changed the Earth completely. Enough to say about mammoths
who happily had lived for tens million of years and suddenly died just a second ago, according the historical scale.
WD> These were the heydays of the flat earth society and perhaps little
WD> did they know it was not the sea, covering the whole world, which
WD> was rising but only the water in a gigantic pre-historic lake.
WD> The rest could be the result of creative writing by the scribes
WD> whom penned the text... Let's not just discount the story of a
WD> massive large-scale flood... after all, the Glacial Lake Missoula
WD> filled like 40 times over a large span of time.
WD> And weird things of biblical nature have been reported and are
WD> believed as well, for example that Christ after his death did not
WD> ascend to heaven but took-off like a rocket and was injected into a
WD> ballistic trajectory taking him to North America with an ease that
WD> would make NASA and Elon Musk jealous... at least that's what the
WD> Mormons say...
The Christ's take-off was IMHO the least of the miracles from the Bible.
Bye, Ward!
