• The US obsession with toilet paper

From Björn Felten@2:203/2 to alexander koryagin on Tue Dec 1 16:39:39 2020
.. toilet paper and what else? ;-)

    Sigh!

What's with this weird US toilet paper obsession? Whenever there is a cricies of any kind, they all storm to the nearby supermarket and fights like their lives depended on it, emptying the shelves as fast as possible.

It simply makes no sense to me. But then again, I have a bidé at home and uses about one roll of toilet paper per year -- usually used up by foreign visitors who prefer spreading their shit around between their buttocks with a handful of paper rather than washing it away with the bidé.

Quite a cultural difference, I'd say...?

Kimberly Clark, Georgia-Pacific, and Proctor & Gamble all have great marketing departments.

No one is more susceptible to conspiracy theories through marketing than us 'murricans!

    No you don't.

    You have a "bidet".

    https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bid%C3%A9

En bidé, franska bidet, är en anordning för personlig hygien, där en vertikal vattenstråle rengör underlivet. Bidén kan användas efter toalettbesök vilket minskar åtgången av toalettpapper.

Wouldn't it be more important to fix the charset issue?
