    Hello Björn,

On Tuesday January 04 2022 15:14, you wrote to Lee Lofaso:

Remember the guy who refused to patent his discovery of penicillin? Scottish scientist Alexander Fleming refused to patent it, he wanted
it to benefit the entire humanity. Do you think a US scientist would
    ever do such a thing?

A US /scientist/ might very well try. But his/her boss or the boss of his/her boss would see to it that it gets patented anyway. One way or another.

    Cheers, Michiel

Maybe. But the fact of the matter is, that almost every new discovery comes from taxpayer funded universities (socialism) -- including the revolutionary mRNA discovery.

One way or another, all those discoveries seem to quietly slide away into some corporations, more often than not created by one or more of the involved scientists. Not only in the US...

Ah well, as we all know, socialism is evil, egotism is the new God.

"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." Long forgotten, wise words from a former POTUS with great speech writers.
