      4 c  Water
      2 c  Old-fashioned oats
    1/4 ts Salt
      3 tb Milk

           Maple syrup
           Honey
           Ground cinnamon
           Vanilla extract
 
  Place water in a large saucepan; bring to a boil. Stir
  in oats and salt; reduce heat to low. Cook 5 minutes,
  stirring occasionally, until oats are soft. Remove from
  heat; stir in milk. Cover; let sit 3-4 minutes. Stir in
  optional ingredients, if desired.
