  • 16550 UART Project - Fail

    Well, I have been working the last two weeks on my dialup station. The computer I am using for it right now is my Tandy 1000 TL/2. The serial card with 16500 UARTs I wanted to use I don't believe will work on this machine... it needs a portion of the 16 bit slot, the TL/2 only has 8 bit.

    I am going to find another card hopefully documented to work on the TL/2, but I am thinking it may be fun to get a 386, 486, or lower-end Pentium build.. I want a pre-Windows 95 experience. Maybe even powerful enough to run "Doom". If I do this, I think I want a clone, not name brand, as that would be true to my experience as a teen in the 90s.
