  • Airbus needs to deliver 99 airplanes per month to meet targets

    Airbus delivered 57 aircraft to its customers in the month of August. The European aircraft manufacturer delivered an average of two aircraft per day during the first eight months of this year. However, that pace needs to increase significantly to meet the targets set for the end of the year.

    The number of deliveries rose by 9 percent compared to a year earlier. On August 31, the delivery count for this year stood at 475. This involved 429 narrowbody aircraft, such as the A320neo and A321neo. Of the A330, A350-900, and A350-1000 widebody aircraft, 11, 24, and 11 have been delivered so far this year, respectively.

    In August, there was only one A330-900 for STARLUX Airlines, plus three A350-1000s destined for Qatar Airways, STARLUX, and Philippine Airlines. Widebodies still account for less than 10 percent of the total number of deliveries in 2026.

    Although production in the first eight months is higher than last year, it remains to be seen whether the delivery target for this year will be met.

    Airbus says it aims to deliver 870 aircraft over the whole of 2026. That means that 395 aircraft still need to be delivered from September to December 31, or 99 per month ... well over three per day.

    In August, Airbus also received 67 orders for new aircraft.
