  • 3 US F15s shot down by Kuwait

    Three US F-15 fighter jets were accidentally shot down over Kuwait by Kuwaiti air defense systems. The crew members were able to evacuate safely and are in stable condition, according to the US Middle East Command (Centcom).

    These were three F-15E Strike Eagles. They were participating in Operation Epic Fury against Iran. They were shot down by Kuwaiti air defenses due to so-called friendly fire, in which either friendly or allied forces targeted the aircraft.

    While he will be forever razzed about this, I doubt anything punitive will be done, as you begin to get into situations were your wariors will hesitate because of what happened to the last guy.

    Reminds me of the South Korean troops who mistook an Asiana passenger aircraft on approach for an North Korean aircraft and opened fire.

    Reminds me of the South Korean troops who mistook an Asiana passenger aircraft on approach for an North Korean aircraft and opened fire.

    Or the Brits shooting down an Aer Lingus passenger plane, or the Italians shooting down an Itavia DC9, or the Brits shooting down a Belgian C119 above Germany, and the Russians shooting down 2 Korean Airlines jets, the Bulgarians shooting down an El Al plane, the Americans shooting down an Iran Air A300 etc etc etc ...

    Well the 2 KAL jets that the Soviets shot down, were not were they were supposed to be.

    The Americans shooting down the Iran Air A300, the Americans were not were they were supposed to be.

    The Asiana aircraft and the Korean soldiers were exactly were they were both supposed to be.
