He did a great job of handing the ball to Adrian alright. :P
Hey now, wait a second. If it wasn't for AP the Vikings
wouldn't have won. Favre really had nothing to do with winning
that game, except for making good hand-offs. :)
Now on the other hand.. Aaron Rodgers had a hell of a game. TAKE THAT FAVRE, CAN STILL WIN WITHOUT YOU.
no interceptions..
Yeah you're absolutely right.. lesseee... 14 of 21 for passing, no interceptions and on passing touchdown... yeah you're right he did absolutely nothing. :)
no interceptions..
That doesn't sound like the Favre I know and love. So who
really played? ;)
Just wait buddy. The interceptions will continue. I/We've
dealt with it for 17 years.
Granted, he did a great job for the Packers. But he turned
into a huge drama queen, he has some huge beef with our GM
because he wouldn't pick up who Favre wanted us to pick up.
But we still seem to be doing just fine without him. He's
going to end up ruining himself like Marino did by staying too
long. :(

you don't have to continually pass all the time. Should make his
game better when he's not under pressure to do it all don't you
think? :)

Aaron Rodgers - 17 of 28 for 184 yards.
That's hardly lighting it up. :p
The Pack was lucky to walk away with that W.
They won't be so lucky at Soldier field. ;-)
... Beauty is only skin deep. Ugly goes right to the bone.
Yes, and so have we as Vikings fans with Travaris Jackson and so on
and so forth. However... we shall see what develops and like I said
in a previous post... when you have a running game like the Vikings
do, all you need is a steady quarterback and one that doesn't feel
like he has to do it all. :)
I can understand that but name me one other truly great quarterback
and or real quality player that doesn't have and ego. :)
We shall see, but he's only 39 and yes, old by some standards in
the NFl but you may be too young to remember George Blanda who played
for a good many years and was an old warhorse. :)

It's unfortunate Dan "The Man" Marino never had a running game to
speak of. I actually wanted him to go to the Vikings and throw to
Chris Carter back during that era.
He only threw the ball for 110 passing yards. Not exactly the
kind of "gunslinger" play the fans have come to expect from
Farve.
The stat sheet shows him ranked 30 out of 32 QB's for yardage
the opening week.

Oh without a doubt. Championship caliber. Anyone remember
Dorsey Levins?
It could happen again for sure.
They won't be so lucky at Soldier field. ;-)
Well the way Cutler played, I'm not worried. The Packers own the Bears. Thei division is going to come down to the Vikings or the Packers.
Since Urlacher is out for the season, and Cutler like playing backup QB for Packers.. I'm sure it will be a good game. :)
Nah. I would've taken Montana over Marino any day.
shouldn't see much over 200 yards on average. :) Of course with the
running game at over 200 yards... ball controll you know? :)
Interesting.. but the only stat that matters is how many numbers
you have in the win column. :)
Oh without a doubt. Championship caliber. Anyone remember
Dorsey Levins?
Yep, one heck of a running back in his prime. :)
them. :) I would think that with a viable passing offense, they
won't be able to stack up against the run all the time. :)
Oh HELL NO A.D, you shouldn't doubt Hillenmeyer's cerebral playing
ability like that.
A.Rodgers = Bear food in Soldier's Field. You'll see!
The second best thing to a Bears victory is watching the Pack lose. ;p
He's bound to have some big yardage games when teams continually keep
8 in the box just to stop the run.
Typical Bears-fan mumbo jumbo. :)
And that's when the interceptions will occur. :P

So you're saying the packers never had a running game? You're
crazy. I think it's more of a play-calling issue for one (I'll
blame Mike Sherman there), and for two.. to hold the good
records as well as the bad ones (interceptions), is sort of
saying that half the time you probably just winged it up there
hoping for someone to catch it.
Oh, and watching him for the last 18 years, you should know as
well as everyone, that the interceptions won't end there. :)
There's plenty out there that are 'team' players, rather than
all about themselves. Peyton Manning? Ben Rothlesburger? Joe
Montana? Did any of them badmouth their GM in public? Are any
of them pretending to be retired so they don't have to go to
training camp? Want me to keep listing more? I'd say about 90%
of the NFL haven't pulled the crap Favre has.
Nah. I would've taken Montana over Marino any day.
Montana had long since retired at that point.

Oh yeah. If the running game stays healty that's probably the
most coveted qb posistion in the league. No doubt!
I don't however think that Farve will be happy for long just
handing the ball off and tossing screen passes for an entire
season.

Exactly! I can't imagine Brett NOT having some really big
passing games. With that kind of running threat, play action
all day and with teams stuffing 8 in the box.....WHEW! A
defensive squad's nightmare.
Nah. I would've taken Montana over Marino any day.

Yes and his last job at Kansas City wasn't all that glorious
either. :)
Exactly! The passing game can and usually is exciting but running
the ball and maintaining controll of the ball is what wins the most
games. :)
along with the running game. Later on in the season it's going to be
like the Robert Smith, Randy Moss deal... pick you poison. If you
hehehehe, indeed! I don't know just how good they will be this year
or even if they will make the playoffs but I do think they will win
their share of games. I guess the first real test will come Sunday
against San Francisco. :)
Unhunh, and it worked sometimes didn't it? :)
Of course they won't, the difference though is how many he will
complete to his own receivers and how effectively the team can move
the ball. Remember the Vikings do have a very good defense too. :)
I cannot say for sure and when it comes down to it, I don't think
you can either. :)
Hmmm, sounds more like sour grapes to me. :)
As a Packer fan I resent your Viking praise. The Vikings (and yes, the Bears too) suck! :)
SUGGESTION SUGGESTION to add more fun

I still remember cheering for Diamond Joe though during that
Did you know that Earl Campbell wanted to play for Shula? Had
that of happened, Dan "The Man" Marino and the Dolphins would
have scored a Superbowl. Course that's nothing but mere
speculation.:) Would have been something to see though.
the ball and maintaining controll of the ball is what wins the

Consumption of the beloved game-clock. ;)
I remember those days. Pep slinging the ball down the field to
Moss our hitting Carter on a slant.
Moss & Carter were possibly one of the most dangerous WR duo's
to have ever played the game.
One of the other dynamic duos that come to mind is the
Dolphins Marx brothers. That's offense at it's best.
Yes it is impressive how the 9ers have improved under the
leadership of M.Singletary but i don't think you have anything
to worry about this week.
The Vikings have a really tough schedule. Weeks 6, 7 & 8 are
brutal! Baltimore, Pittsburgh & A second matchup with the Pack
at...you guessed it, GB.

If you wish to call it that. His former teammates still
respect him as a football player, but a lot of them lost
respect for him because of the stuff he pulled here. It's all
good though, we don't have to deal with it anymore.
when they had Larry Czonka and Jim Kick along with Greese as Qb, now
there was a tandem that would win some games. :)
Consumption of the beloved game-clock. ;)
absolutely, if you can keep the other teams offense off the field,
the game is usually yours. :)
still playing and still a very good receiver though I think he's
lost a step or two from his glory days at Minnesota. :)
I've not seen anyone yet who could play the sidelines like Carter
did just dragging his toes inbounds while the rest of his body was
across the sidelines. Only he could catch that pass and the
defender could do very little to stop it.
balls and less than two hundred yards of passing. If I remember
right he got around 300 yards passing, two td's and of course that
LOL, well I'm not praising the Vikings... just stating the obvious
facts. The defense has been very good of recent years... just the
offense has tended to sputter if not fail completely....errr....
except maybe the running game. <g>
Well, one wonders if there will be any hard feelings on the field
come Monday night when the two teams meet for the first time since
Farve came over to the Vikings. :)
