Granted, he did a great job for the Packers. But he turned into a huge drama queen, he has some huge beef with our GM because he wouldn't pick up who Favre wanted us to pick up. and so forth. However... we shall see what develops and like I said
in a previous post... when you have a running game like the Vikings
do, all you need is a steady quarterback and one that doesn't feel
like he has to do it all. :)

Granted, he did a great job for the Packers. But he turned

So you're saying the packers never had a running game? You're crazy. I think it's more of a play-calling issue for one (I'll blame Mike Sherman there), and for two.. to hold the good records as well as the bad ones (interceptions), is sort of saying that half the time you probably just winged it up there hoping for someone to catch it.

Like I said, Favre had a great run here in Wisconsin. Later on in his career here he decided to start becoming a big drama queen, and people got sick of it.

Oh, and watching him for the last 18 years, you should know as well as everyone, that the interceptions won't end there. :)

There's plenty out there that are 'team' players, rather than all about themselves. Peyton Manning? Ben Rothlesburger? Joe Montana? Did any of them badmouth their GM in public? Are any of them pretending to be retired so they don't have to go to training camp? Want me to keep listing more? I'd say about 90% of the NFL haven't pulled the crap Favre has.

the ball and maintaining controll of the ball is what wins the most
games. :)

Yeppers, and they do have a decent core of receivers now to go
along with the running game. Later on in the season it's going to be
like the Robert Smith, Randy Moss deal... pick you poison. If you

hehehehe, indeed! I don't know just how good they will be this year
or even if they will make the playoffs but I do think they will win
their share of games. I guess the first real test will come Sunday
against San Francisco. :)

Yes it is impressive how the 9ers have improved under the leadership
of M.Singletary but i don't think you have anything to worry about
this week.

The Vikings have a really tough schedule. Weeks 6, 7 & 8 are brutal!
Baltimore, Pittsburgh & A second matchup with the Pack at...you

Yeah that must have been tough... other than the tight end... at
least I think Gonzalas was there then, he really didn't have a
decent receiving corps. :(

the game is usually yours. :)

still playing and still a very good receiver though I think he's
lost a step or two from his glory days at Minnesota. :)

I've not seen anyone yet who could play the sidelines like Carter
did just dragging his toes inbounds while the rest of his body was
across the sidelines. Only he could catch that pass and the
defender could do very little to stop it.

Oh there were a few things to worry about. :) Ya gotta give
Singletary credit for the way he's got that team turned around! This
team of his is going to be a factor and that's for sure!

hehehehe, well it will soon lead us to know if they have what it
takes to be a contender eh? :) I'll tell you though, this last game
may put to rest some of the critics about Farve only throwing short
balls and less than two hundred yards of passing. If I remember
right he got around 300 yards passing, two td's and of course that
ill fated interception but he made up for it in the final drive. :)

facts. The defense has been very good of recent years... just the
offense has tended to sputter if not fail completely....errr....
except maybe the running game. <g>

The "Zonk" was great especially with "The Mercury" in the backfield
with him. You can start to see why D line rotation has become such
a specialized science. :)

me of Marino. Their command and leadership is off the charts.

Madden says that the older a receiver gets though, the better he gets
at route running. Makes alot of sense when you think about it because
with the advent of film study, players just can't rely on that raw
ability like they sometimes do during their rookie seasons.

Indeed. When you consider those types of physical abilities (which
C.Carter obviously had) and then combine them with his obvious
intelligence and love for the game, what developes is the consumate professional athlete. I remember him (C.Carter) being vocal about
wanting Dan Marino to come to the Vikings after Miami voted him out.

The disrespect (at least in my mind) the Dolphins organization
displayed for Shula and Marino are two reasons i continue to
enjoy seeing them lose even to this day.

Yep. Threw 24 completions out of 46 attempts for 301 yds and 2 td's.

If your a 49'er fan, (which i'm not) it was a heartbreaker for sure.
A win's a win but fate was definately smiling on the Vikings that
day because they were a beaten team. ;p

Funny i remember sighing with relief when they scored because i was
pissed about losing another game in DB. :)

This is true. But if you remember last year, it was vs the Packers that AP got injured and the Pack went on to win like 34-0 or something. I was at that game, too. It was GREAT! :)
