Interesting.. I didn't know about that. I always liked WinAmp, and still use it sometimes, as it always seemed like the most convenient audio player (I suppose VLC and others are good for that too).

Very recently I was thinking of looking for something to replace WinAmp, because I recently upgraded to a 4K monitor, and WinAmp has a very tiny window on a 4K monitor - I guess WinAmp doesn't do any GUI scaling as per Windows' settings for higher-resolution monitors..

    I'll check it out.

Aside from WinAmp, I've tended to use iTunes to help browse & play my music library. iTunes seems fairly "heavy" sometimes though, and sometimes I might want to double-click an MP3 file in Windows Explorer and play it, and in that situation it's useful to have something more lightweight, like WinAmp or VLC, etc.

MediaMonkey looks fairly interesting though.. I've considered finding an alternative to iTunes, since I don't have any Apple devices that I need to manage. Another one I've tried is Winyl, which is fairly simple, and I wasn't sure if I liked it or not..

at least winamp and vlc are skinnable unlike itunes.

just looked. it has not changed for several years. they yanked all the files and addons from the site and announced winamp was bought yet again.

looks like a big disappointment as it did last time i looked.

Even if I drag the window larger, the buttons & text & things are still tiny. Perhaps I could look for a custom skin..

i havent seen the latest skin format but i'm not so sure they get bigger. i used to make old format winamp skins because it was so easy.

It went somewhere? :) It's worked non-stop here for some time.

All kidding aside, I saw that too, I'd love a supported version,
haven't run into a show-stopper bug yet (knock wood)

"They" ... - you mean those expert dots? So it is top secret. Who is they? They are probally planning to make more little sheep for the pasture, that work in the rapture, that program craftwork for a pastor in computer land.
