• Why Do Ports Timeout

From SETH HURST@VERT/SPACESST to ALL on Fri May 10 06:02:00 2019
So I'm using comcast and every port that I have checked with a port
checker tool says its open but when I connect to my comcast ip it times
out on the port. I'm connecting from my local network back into my
local network through the public ip address. I'm using a netgear
    rooter.

this sounds like your router does not do "hairpinning"...

I've had routers that did this. What I ended up doing was putting my domain name into my hosts file to bypass dns and redirect to the internal address instead.

Or you could just connect to 127.0.0.1 instead of your domain name.

The router ports are open, but are they forwarded to a system that has services listening on those ports? FMI http://vert.synchro.net/scanmyports.ssjs
