    Got weird vibes there. This guy called Rick C Hodgin.

    Should I tell the funny story?

    So basically it started off when I was on Usenet the other day on the C++ group (comp.lang.cpp or c++ I can't remember) and there was this guy who is Christian but like way over board (maybe a fundamentalist, who knows?) and I got
    interested in his
    Liberty Software Foundation which was created because he disagreed with Richard Stallman's weird views (he supports pedophilia and necrophilia). Obviously I disagree with RMS's views so I took a look at this foundation that is all about Christian morals - obviously against RMS's views. Then I come back amazed at the numerous projects this guy, which is the founder of the foundation - Rick C. Hodgin. Then I come back and reply to his messages (which always start with bible speak or what I call Jesus-speak (as Rick speaks like those in the bible). And I reply to Rick saying, "Wow, you're really intelligent and all.".

    I mean this guy wrote an OS, languages and who knows what else. Oh yes, a video editor.

    Anyway. After a good semeraten (is that speling ok?) e-mails me to not get involved with Rick I then come back to reality. The guy that emails me says that this Rick guy is most likely part of a cult and has scherenezo-something-phobia? Idk and is bi-polar - or atleast what he thinks.

    So I then stay away from this guy. As the guy that emailed me says, yes, many disagree with his views but we don't like him or want RMS for that, we want him for the GNU project and all his has done there. I agree with this, although RMS still is fucked in the head.

    Anyway, that's that. It's kinda condensed but that is the just.

    The thing that interested me was figuring out if this guy was a in a cult. The guy that emailed me and advised me to not get involved with him said that he would't accept me as a Christian either cause I am not fitting or something. HHe said that Rick is also the head of this cult (most likely, this is all just aassumptions - which I don't doubt).

    The cult part might not be true but the madness of his religious "outbursts" is definately weird, I am a Christian (Catholic) myself and this shit is weird.

    Check him out. comp.lang.c++

    This is obviously a clickbait title. Most usenet people are cool. Never get involved with people on a personal level, I only get involved on a subject matter level like talking about programming, maybe some banter but other than that it is just a subject level (or atleast that is where I'd like to stand; I should actually adhere to this rule :P).

    That you would find all this in a C++ forum is fascinating. That's quite a story. I will definitely worth a visit.

    this story made me want to check him out, I don't know what his "cult" following is, but he seems to be a very good activist when it comes to computer privacy, was part of EFF, founding member I would presume, and is still very active. he does seem to come on very strong with his opinions on his website, but who does'nt. I did'nt see anything at all religios on his website. just all "freedom" related.

    Kind of fitting, considering the term "Eternal September" was coined by people fearing that AOL and other easy-to-use ISPs would create a wave of spam, trolling, and flame warring since users out of academia and the government would no longer be the majority. (AOL gave extensive Usenet service to its users in September 1993.)
