I raise rats for fun and profit.

so could you raise one so it's very tame and then ship it to me?
i was considering owning one as a pet once i move.

all mine are hand raised. but young ones would still be warry of someone they dont know. like most other baby animals. they wont bite you but might try to jump from your hands and run away. never shipped one thou, dont know how that would work. tryed to give one as a birthday gift once. gnawed thru the wrapping and box and sat on top of the cake. young rats dont have many manners yet.

yeah, now that i think about it, shipping a rodent must be pretty hard on the animal. even next day air.

yep, and the postage canceling machine has been known to take a paw or piece of tail once in a while. a rat that is 5 percent off is not a happy rat.
