The annual "Night of Nights" event, in which historic maritime CW stations such as KPH and WLO, and Coast Guard stations such as NMC, return from the dead for a few hours, starting at 0001 UTC on July 13. It's sponsored by the Maritime Radio Historical Society (MRHS[1]).
As a bonus, a pair of Amateur Radio stations - K6KPH and W4WLO - will also activate on CW. QSLs will be awarded to those who copy the text of the maritime stations' CW signals or work the ham stations.
Anyone within driving distance of Point Reyes National Seashore in California (northwest of San Francisco) can observe "Night of Nights" in person at the historic RCA commercial maritime station - and even serve as a guest operator! A guest operating position will be available; bring your own key and headphones or use the station's gear and operate K6KPH.
For more information[2], including stations and frequencies, see the Maritime Radio Historical Society newsletter. - Thanks to Brian Smith, W9IND
