So its been a while since I've posted here. Months back I was asking for recommendations on a conceal carry.

I ended up going with a Ruger LC9 and its been great.

Since then i've also acquired a mossberg 500 12g with 18.5" defense barrel.

And a vintage late 60's M1 Carbine in perfect condition.

The locker is nice and stocked and secure.

But I have a question- i was at the range last week running some rounds through the LC9 and I brought along my Kel-Tec P32 which was my previous conceal carry.

It failed to fire twice, so I removed the rounds and mag and broke it down and took a look.

Everything seems fine but I did notice it seems there's not a lot of force coming from the hammer.

I believe the hammer is striking the round but not hard enough to discharge it.

I'm fine with cleaning, but I'm no firearm repair man.

I'm guessing there's a spring back there that controls tension for the hammer, and maybe it needs to be replaced?

Any ideas?

(pplease don't suggest I get rid of the kel-tec, I don't need to be reminded that it isn't the greatest arm out there. I acquired it for free and it makes a fine backup conceal weapon for my wife).

A weapon which doesn't fire sometimes doesn't make "a fine backup conceal weapon" for anyone you want to remain alive. I'm not judging you, just wondering if you actually want a more or less reliable weapon?

I can understand using it for plinking and whatnot, but using something which DOESN'T WORK for self defence is dumb.

Take the weapon apart and you will notice a spring, that may be worn out. Also, thoroughly clean the weapon and inspect it for any debri, such as
carbon, dirt, etc. Most gun maufacturers do not recommend it, but I use carburator cleaner, ONLY AS a last resort, to remove any gunk. However, if
you do this, please make sure that you oil the hell out of the weapon.

As a last check, maybe you purchased some bad ammo. It happens.

On another note, I agree with the previous post. If the weapon doesn't fire correctly, you may want to consider exchanging it. I carry a Glock 40 G4 and
I have a 38 as a backup. I figure if I can't hit someone with 13 rounds, I have 5 to figure ut what the hell I am gonna do <lol>
