• Programmers and Game designers wanted

    Hello everybody!

I'm looking to engage with people who would be interested in designing a new BBS Door game. I have the basics of
the concept down but these things are always done better when there a few people involved in development.

I'm writing the game in Pascal as it's free and the IDE is also free and I used to write in Pascal oh so many years
    ago.

The basic concept of the game is based in the Cyberpunk universe using G.U.R.P.S (Generic Universal Role Playing
System) by Steve Jackson Games. GURPS will be used for the character generation aspect of the game.

When a Sysop installs the game on their system they become another Corporation in the game. In this aspect, the
Sysop becomes the CEO of the Corporation. They get to name it and manage it, hire Shunners (Shadow Runners), etc, etc,
    etc.

Users on the BBS become Shunners and run the net, hacking and exploring.

The BBS interface for the users will be a standard console program, just as the BBS games of the past. The
interface for the Sysops will be a console based app (Win32, Linux and I hope Mac OS as well). All BBSes that join the
game will be linked together and messages will flow using standard FTN packets.

While this game will not have fantastic graphics, I believe that we can create something that people will enjoy
playing. I hope that some of you will join me in doing this as, with anything, it takes a community to make something
    good.

I am also looking for programmers for my other BBS related projects, Wycker, a BBS Log file maintainer, FTN
Firefly, a FTN Mailer based on the last code release of the Argus/Radius/Taurus branch and Serenity, a Synchronet File
    List Generator.

If you are interested, please contact me at Buckaroo Banzai@1:275/97 via Netmail or steven dot sheeley at gmail
    dot com.

It's interesting that you're doing this, i'd be happy to help where I can. I'm writing a similar game but more future based called "Interplanetary Realms" which has a very similiar concept where each BBS is a part of the universe as a
    whole.

The only difference is that i'm writing this in PHP since most systems can use native executables for doors now.
