• Configuring Echomail on Synchronet

From Necrosis@VELENO/VERT/CLOCKTOW to All on Mon Jul 10 15:48:39 2017
Hello everyone, I am a returning Sysop who's starting up a new BBS using Synchronet for the first time. I found some documentation online regarding
how to use Echoconfig.exe to help configure fidonet echomail systems onto your BBS. The one thing that I am puzzled about is that I seem to not have a area.bbs or a backbone.na file anywhere in my SBBS directory. Is there somewhere online where I can download these files? I tried doing a search for them and haven't really found anything in regards of downloading. Does anyone know a possible work around? I tried looking through the main config program and don't quite understand how to use that to add a echo service (If you can
    at all)

    Thank you for your time.

This is really the wrong message area for Synchronet-support questions.

That said, here's where you can start with regards to FidoNet: http://wiki.synchro.net/howto:fidonet

If you're setting up your first echomail net, the easiest way to go is export an AREAS.BBS from the message group. the configuration program will ask for the FTN address of your feed, which it will use to create the AREAS.BBS file.

Once you get the hang of it, it's all quite simple, but the first time it's a little confusing.
