Hello Digital!

As you know, I'm running sbbsecho as a stand-alone on a Pi to use as an echo hub. If a netmail comes addressed to me using the hub's node address, it'll just sit there as it really doesn't know what the hell to do with it. Now, does sbbsecho read alias.cfg and if so, can it be setup to forward that netmail to another FTN address.

Yes, that I understand... I guess my overzealous description was not really what I meant.

Since you're not doing anything else regarding email or anything on
that system. You could setup a small Golded config file just to read
your netmail on that system (/sbbs/ctrl/mail.cnf I believe). But
otherwise I don't think there is any kind of forwarding mechanism.

Does GoldEd have a linux version?

I would hope Rob would look into something like this though. Would be nice... :)

No, alias.cfg is for Internet email.

I don't really follow what it is you're describing. If your system isn't "the hub" why would an FTN netmail be addressed to you using the hub's node address? If SBBSecho only imports netmail (by default) for the addresses you have configuredin SCFG->Networks->FidoNet. If you want SBBSecho (v3) to import *all* netmail, regardless of destination address, set IgnoreNetmailDestAddr = true in your ctrl/sbbsecho.ini file.

No, alias.cfg is for Internet email.

I don't really follow what it is you're describing. If your system
isn't "the hub" why would an FTN netmail be addressed to you using the hub's node address? If SBBSecho only imports netmail (by default) for
the addresses you have configuredin SCFG->Networks->FidoNet. If you
want SBBSecho (v3) to import *all* netmail, regardless of destination address, set IgnoreNetmailDestAddr = true in your ctrl/sbbsecho.ini
file.

The HUB is just running sbbsecho and binkd. If somehow someone sends me a netmail using the HUB's address, it will just sit there and I'll never know it's there unless I physically check the netmail folder. My question was if there was a way of setting up a file similar to alias.cfg for FTN netmail that IF netmail addressed to me comes into the HUB node address, it gets forwarded to the BBS node address where I will be notified. I don't want the HUB importing any netmail except for an areafix requests.

Example:

Incoming to HUB Forward to:

Perhaps. It doesn't sound like something quick or easy and nobody else has ever asked for it. I may take a look into it at some point, but no promises.
