    Hello All,

I want to try getting my BBS info web pages to look more like the rest of my site... ecWebv3 looks like it will be easier to modify, with it's dark color scheme... I seem to recall getting this working at one point, but I think when I re-uploaded some updated sbbs files files I killed it. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong now though.

I followed the directions here: http://wiki.synchro.net/howto:ecweb

in modopts.ini I changed ecWeb to ecwebv3 and I have the directory in my web root but going to info.capitolshrill.com/ecwebv3/ gives me a 404 page - even though I've confirmed the directory is there.

It seems like I'm missing something, but that's all that's really there as far as instructions go.

I also wanted to give the NightShade theme a try but all it did was give a description of the theme, no actual content from the BBS.

The instructions on wiki point your web root directory to web/root/ecwebv3, so that means you should get ecWeb when going to http://your.bbs.com/, you don't need to the "/ecwebv3/" in the URL.

After modifying modopts.ini the instructions say:
    To begin, navigate to:

    http://your-bbs-host.whatever/ecwebv3/

But I tried with and without.

    Sorry about that.

IIRC, if you want to run ecweb *instead of* the stock web interface, you can:

    - Edit the [Web] section of sbbs.ini, change the value of 'RootDirectory' to '../web/root/ecwebv3'

    - Edit the [ecweb] section of modopts.ini, change the value of 'appendURL' to '/'

    - Restart all the shit

I may be missing some steps, but I think that at this point, browsing to 'http://your-bbs-host.whatever/' should bring up ecweb.

That said, I'm not really endorsing the use of ecweb. It's usable in its current state, but I'm not working on it any longer - so bugfixes may not happen, and new features are unlikely. (But thanks for taking an interest.)
