Hi everyone. I am just setting back up my BBS, after returning from a 6
month journey and finding the PC crashed. Now, I am trying to place some
.ANS menus in to chnage up the logon, welcome, etc menus. How do I do this, and where do I place the files? Do I have to rename the files, or is this a configuration issue that needs to be addressed in Synchronet itself? I apologize for asking, but I have forgotten how to do this.

    Thank you for your time..

I recommend taking a look at:

    http://wiki.synchro.net/custom:index

And if you have questions about what you see there (or something you want to know isn't addressed there) ask your follow-up questions here.

Yes, this is the dreaded "read the docs" message. :D :D :D

Keep in mind that most of the Synchronet files use the slightly different Ctrl-A codes for color. Open Notepad (or whatever you use for text editing, I recommend Notepad++ (Google it)) and find sbbs/text/answer.asc file Open that one and you'll see more or less how Ctrl-A codes work. Answer.asc is the first file displayed to callers upon connection.

Now that's all a little confusing, but FEAR not, there is an easier way... PabloDraw (google it), will open and decode Ctrl-A files and let you edit them to your hearts content. Pablo is a little tricky, but once you get the hang of it, it's probably one of the best ANSI editors for Synchronet purposes.

Everything else is just trial and error...
