Your messages are getting out just fine duder. Ansi artists don't check messages nearly as often as us sysops do. You might have to wait a bit for a response. Otherwise, you could also try blocktronics.org and see if they answer
    directly.

They've slowly been moving away from BBSs for quite some time now. A lot of them seem to like social media much better. :(

    Nick

Why? I've been using two interval events here without issue for quite some time, and don't plan on switching them over to hourly at all..?

One executes every hour from when it was started, and the other (when enabled) executes every 4 hours from when it was started. I don't think I've ever witnessed any stoppage because they ran into each other, either.. but then again I wasn't really looking for it either.

But if it saves you some mega disk space or whatever by removing interval events, go for it! I do suppose that the hourly events that were just added are
just somewhat of an "improvised" interval event in a way, since you can still run something hourly, but now you can specify what time it starts, and continues to happen.

    Nick

I would leave them in. Despite the fact that I have been having issues with them I think they are a good idea and offer another level of flexibility that an hourly event does not.

I don't use them. I just use the semaphore events in Mystic and cron for my timed events. I stuck with cron because the Mystic interval events don't make
a lot of sense to me. :)

At the moment my nightly nodelist compilation and my tic file processing are done through cron.

What *does* make sense to you? There are also timed events that run on the minute past the hour, or events that run at exact times. What do you feel is missing between the 4 event types, if anything?

interval events are fine as long as you understand that they function based
on the time that mis was started... they do have their purpose and they seem
to work well for that purpose... they don't take that much code space and certainly shouldn't require much more adjustment and maintenance... i see nothing wrong with leaving them in place for those that desire to use them...

on the other hand, the addition of true hour based events is a plus and highly welcomed in these parts... especially when we want to poll at specific times
of the hour or perform other tasks :)

I like the way cron does things.

One of my timed events is listed as:

    * * * * *

which means it runs every minute of every day. But cron also lets me do */5
for example, in the minutes, which will run the event every 5 minutes on the clock so exactly 5 past, 10 past, 15 past, etc.

Just had a look at the event editor now to see what I'm missing, and I can
see exec types of BBS and shell, which I don't know what they do, so will
have to dig out the dox and have a closer look at them.
