• fidopoll auth msg

    From mental block@46:1/102 to g00r00 on Fri Dec 11 18:53:26 2015
I was helping a SysOp setup an echomail network. He kept getting errors that
he could't connect when he ran fidopoll.

His setup was fine, but the uplink bbs crashed and his node information
    wasn't setup yet.

Prior to that we looked over the logs, which I don't have :(, but the error
was something about a frame. At first I thought this was a bug, then I
realized its just a message that could explain better.

If fidopoll can negation a connection, but cannot auth. I think a better error Message would be AUTH FAILED, or INVALID account. Please talk to your uplink...

    happy holidays.

still waiting on that first alpha hopefully for christmas, 1.12a1?

    thanks.

That frame message seems to come up quite a bit depending on what software Fidopoll is talking to. We have seen it quite a bit with clients like
Internet Rex. From memory it does not really cause a problem but is more of a nusance message. But I recall from some time ago there were a bunch of issues g00r00 and the rest of us were battling to solve with binkp and fidopoll and getting eveything to place nice with other more dated software such as
    Internet Rex.

Hopefully this will be easier to track. Since the uplink does not have an account when the downlink runs fidopoll.
