What are your thoughts about being prompted to vote on new voting topics at login?

This is something that was really common with RG/TG boards in the 90s, but Mystic has, by default, not really pushed voting at login.

I think I asked this a while back... Al said that he doesn't like to force
ppl to do stuff, which makes sense, but maybe it would be cool? Voting
results are entertaining to me, especially when it's a somewhat serious
voting topic. I think a lot of us Mystic sysops have shoved it off to the
side quite a bit.

A new voting question, showing up at login, is a nice way to show users that you're still alive. I think I'm gonna bring it back.. (Right after I bring my board back... this will take me a little while...)

I'm not sure I like forcing users to do things at login. I suppose one option is
to have a question during login to ask users if they want to vote on any new topics that might have been added. Then they'd be able to skip it if they don't
feel like voting at login.

Mystic does this with bulletins. If there is a new bulletin at login at gives you a prompt to read them if you like or just hit enter to carry on with whatever you are doing. Mystic does that internally (I think) but I'm sure the same could be done for new voting questions. If a prompt was placed in the login to ask folks if they'd like to they can do that, or just hit enter and carry on.

The voting booth could be quite useful, and funny.

Entertaining to you - yes, but not nessasarily all users.

I've pretty much settled into just doing echomail on the BBS, so if it's a Wildcat system (like Neptune's Lair is) I'll login with the exclamation point before my name to do it all as simple as possible...

Login all in one line - downside is the sysop still has several bullitins,
but I don't mind. I don't read them - I just 'enter - enter - enter' till
it's done. :-)

In the old days I had a .bat that would do this for me. LOL
